Finding Time To Write…

Finding time to write is always a difficult task for me. I work and I study among other commitments. Being able to schedule writing seems to be more of hopeful than realistic. I’m finding at the moment that the only time I seem to be able to write for any length of time is when said writing correlates to my study.

Now I know what you’re thinking, “didn’t she recently write a post about how she is a procrastinator?” Well the answer to that is yes, yes I did. You can even see the proof here.

But I’m pleased to announce that I have been able to carve out some time for writing today. But first, I must make my Dad his very belated Father’s Day lunch. I have decided to create something new. I call it…The Walsburger. It’s only a matter of time before it catches on.

Well, I best be off to the shops. I need fresh ingredients for my creation and let’s be honest, my cooking needs all the help it can get.

A final note on finding time to write. I have been told by a very wise person (my Mum) “just do it!” So, next time I’m struggling to find the time I’ll remember that little (indelicate) voice nagging me in my head. Or, in my case it will probably be outside my head. Love you Mum!

I’ll let you know how The Walsburger goes!

Yours truly,

An Optimistic Cook Running Out of Time

I end up feeling hopeless when I schedule my time to write and not get it done. Sometimes, I write on my journal just to get my thoughts flowing it even if I don’t end up posting it. It can be a good source to mine for ideas to write about later on. 🙂 Best of luck on the Walsburger.

I think carving out time to writing is a definite challenge. I am always happy if I can accomplish 2 things at once. So if your writing time can double with homework as in your homework can become a post, after it has been graded, why not? I have a couple post that worked out that way, and a couple that were re-worked from assignments. Another little thing I do, since finding time to sit and bang out a lengthy piece is hard, is keep a note book and pencil handy so if something strikes me (sentence, paragraph, idea, or whatever) I can stop and jot it down to continue with later. Sometimes it is a challenge to pick up the train of thought again but once you get used to it, it works. Lots of luck!
