If we were having coffee I would tell you that two things have happened to me this week.

First, I have been sick, but thankfully as of about thirty minutes ago I feel much better. I think the antibiotics have kicked in, yay!

Second, I started writing my novel for NaNoWriMo this week. I am behind on my word count and a lot of that has to do with the fact that I’ve been sick. Now that I’m feeling better though, I will do my best to catch up.

So, without further ado here are the stats.

Word count: 5,188 words (my aim was 10,000)

Coffee count: 2 (seriously, I’ve only had two coffees this week. I must be sick!)

I don’t want to tell you too much about the novel as I find that if I talk about what I’m writing I lose interest and will stop writing. Also, I tend to work out the plot, characters, etc. as I write. Because we are such good friends, I’ve decided to let you know one thing about my novel each week of NaNoWriMo.

Novel Secret #1

Genre – Fantasy

I’ve never written anything in the fantasy genre before, so I’m excited, nervous, and enjoying the challenge. The closest to that genre I’ve written is Fairy Tales, though they are quite different from one another.

If we were having coffee I would tell you that my goal for next week is to write another 15,000 words of my novel.

Have a wonderful week and we’ll chat next weekend.

Glad to hear that you are feeling better. Your words count is great considering that you haven’t been feeling well, good job for getting this far. Won’t take you long to pound out a few more words. I’m participating in NaNoWriMo for the first time. My genre is Memoir/Life Story, and I’m at 13106 words, needed to get a bit ahead so I have some words to spare when the boys need me more than my writing does. Lots of luck!
