Weekend Coffee Share #15

If we were having coffee I would greet you at the front door with your favourite drink and plate full of homemade chocolate chip biscuits and then show you to your favourite chair with the buttoned cushion.

Did you have a nice Christmas? I sure hope you did and I also hope you had a chance to relax and unwind from your very busy year.

I had a quiet, relaxing Christmas, which was just what I wanted. New Years will be another quiet one. Tonight I’m going to watch a couple of movies with my family, eat junk food, and have a glass of Shiraz. Tomorrow we plan to have a champagne breakfast, which should be nice.

We’ve had a couple of storms this week. There’s quite a few trees down around town. We didn’t have any damage to our house or property, so we’re relieved about that. The power did go out though, but it worked out alright in the end. To be honest, when the first storm hit on Tuesday night I had no idea. I slept straight through the whole thing, which is unusual for me. I must have been tired.

I’ve signed up for James Patterson’s Writing Masterclass to help get my focus back on writing. I’ve found it a bit difficult these past couple of months to focus. It’s the first time in five years that I’ve had any time off from studying and I’ve become complacent in my structureless life, so I’m going to try to force some structure back in.

I challenge you to join me in the 2017 Reading Challenge. As I love reading, discovering new books, and discussing books, I have decided to create a reading challenge for 2017. This is the first challenge I’ve created and I’m unsure what the reception I receive will be. So, if you enjoy reading just as much as I do check out the challenge and have a go. You might be pleasantly surprised at the discoveries you make.

I’m not one for making New Years resolutions as I find that people, myself included, rarely stick to them. So, instead I tend to set myself goals throughout the year, which I find more manageable and more reasonable. Do you have any New Years resolutions?

Happy New Year! I hope 2017 brings you happiness.
