Weekend Coffee Share #26

If we were having coffee I would apologise for missing last weekend’s coffee share and being inactive over the past two weeks. I’ve had a turbulent fortnight filled with a mixed bundle of emotions. I won’t be going into any further detail because sometimes you just need to keep things private.

I’ve only had the one post this fortnight:

Today something very exciting is happening. We are picking up our new puppy. His name is Harley and he is a Rough Coat Collie. Don’t worry, I’ll post some photos of him soon. Smoochie (my cat) isn’t overly excited about our new family member. She has been actively trying to be our best friend. She has been rubbing up against everything marking her territory (I for one have been thoroughly claimed and marked) and she has been watching over the puppy preparations with hawk-eyed disapproval.

I’ve got lots of other things happening at the moment. I’ve been reading submissions for Into The Well and have been overjoyed at the quality of the work I have received. I’m still accepting submissions, so get yours in before the deadline. We are currently working on getting the first issue of Cauldron Anthology out and have been planning the next issue. Mark the 20th of April in your calendar, the date when you can begin reading our wonderful contributors’ work. I’ve also been studying, of course. This semester seems to be flying past at increasing speed. I’m working on reviewing advanced copies at the moment, I’ve got eleven in my pile at the moment and counting! I’m also working on a new section for the blog, which I’ll discuss a bit further later this week.

I’m working on a few writing projects at the moment and plan to have a collection of essays ready for publication towards the middle of the year. Of course, my debut poetry collection Ink Stained Heart is due for release on the 18th of April. The date is drawing near, which is rather exciting for me.

This week I’ll be busy with writing, studying, editing, reviewing, playing with Harley, making sure Smoochie doesn’t feel neglected, and doing a bunch of other things.

As always, I wish you a wonderful week.

Until next time, friends.

Thank you Nerd In The Brain for hosting the link-up.

I know our old cat Fluffy was NOT impressed when we brought Zeke into the fold.. When Moondust (other cat) arrived, she was just a baby and now she is so not afraid of rubbing against the big guy, licking his face, head-butting him… Fluffy? Not so much…

Hopefully one day Fluffy begins to love Zeke. It’s quite a worrying time when you introduce a new animal to the family. Smoochie has been quite amazing. She’s usually very timid around other animals, but she has been actively trying to become friends with Harley. If only he would realise that her tail is not one of his toys!
