If we were having coffee I would tell you that the last two weeks have been very busy.
Before I get stuck into all the details, I’ll give you what you’ve been waiting for.
Pupdate: Harley is growing very fast, he’s doubled in size! He’s starting to become a little bit mischievous by pushing boundaries to test what he can and can’t do. But, on the whole he has been very well behaved. Harley and Smoochie are still not getting along. Smoochie is happy with him when he sits near her, but doesn’t try to touch her. Harley on the other hand, enjoys touching her, chasing her, and trying to lick her. Neither one will give in. I think Smoochie will eventually win though, she did give Harley a good ol’ punch when he got to close for comfort. He was rather shocked at that and she was rather pleased.
Here’s what’s been happening on the blog since I last shared coffee with you (two weeks ago).
- Review: The Chilbury Ladies’ Choir by Jennifer Ryan
- The Lady in the White Gown
- Book Launch: Perfect by Cecilia Ahern
- Book Launch: Zenn Diagram by Wendy Brant
- Book Launch: The Magnificent Glass Globe by N. R. Bergeson
- Review: Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman
You might have noticed a few book launches in that list. Do you remember two weeks ago when I told about the Writer’s Nook? Well, these three launches were the first in what I hope is a long list of book launches. I’ve got another launch lined up and I’ve also interviewed a writer for the launch of one of her books. You don’t need to be a published writer to get involved, I’m open to guest posts as well. Send me a message with your ideas.
I launched my publishing and editing business, Wisteria Press, this week. If you would like to know more about my editing services have a look at my business website.
My debut poetry collection, Ink Stained Heart, will be released in a few days. So, circle, highlight, and post-it note your calendar for the 18th of April!
We’re getting ready at Cauldron Anthology to release our first issue on the 20th of April. So, once again, circle, highlight, and post-it note your calendar!
I’m still looking for short speculative fiction stories for Into The Well. If you think you have something might be suitable send it in. I’d love to read it!
I’ve had this week off work and I’ve got next week off too, so I’ll be spending my time reading, catching up on things, reading, writing, oh and did I mention reading.
I’ve recently subscribed to Bookabuy, which is a monthly book subscription. I decided to subscribe to the YA category, though I found it very difficult to choose. I received my first book this week, Hunted by Megan Spooner. I’ve just started reading it and I’m enjoying it. It is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast and I love how the Beauty character is slightly beastly in her own way (watch this space for the upcoming review). Though I’ve only just subscribed, I can’t recommend Bookabuy enough and no, I’m not affiliated in anyway with the company other than being a subscriber. I’ve been telling Mum about it and she wants to subscribe to the Chick Lit category. I’m thinking of taking out another subscription to one (or more) of the other categories because, why not? It’s so nice to receive a beautifully packaged surprise book in the mail.
This week I’ve also been doing a bit of study. I had an assignment due and it was probably the most difficult one I’ve had for uni. On the surface it seemed like it would be simple enough, but it turned into a nightmare for me. It’s done now though, so it’s good to have it behind me.
“Hello? Who is that calling my name? Bookcase, is that you?”
Well, I best be off, wouldn’t want to leave Bookcase hanging!
Talk soon, bye for now.
Thank you Nerd In The Brain for hosting the link-up.
